Auchan Concept Store Floreasca is a project located in the former Ford vehicle factory in the heart of the city of Bucharest.

The existing building is a monument for historical reasons, as it was one of the first vehicle factories in the country. Although the structure of the building will remain unaltered , our practice came to propose a new function, based on its vicinities and the changing character of the area.

The linear shape of the building and its proximity to the rapid -growing area of Floreasca, the city center, a vibrant new residential area and the surrounding offices, make it ideal for the building to be used as a food market with restaurants and coffee places as well. The materials for the interior were carefully selected to match the new use of the building and make the space modern and vibrant and transform it into a new urban core. The interior atriums with its glass roofs provide ample natural lighting and the alternation of shop fronts creates animated pedestrianized spaces that expand in two floors.
